Getting Ready for
the New Year
The last few weeks of the year are a great time to start switching attention to what’s to come—a new year! This time of year can be full of holiday and seasonal things to do. But most of us can find some time to start taking the first few steps to prepare for the new year. Taking this time can go a long way to getting you off to a great start. Here are a few ways that you can prepare for 2022!
Take stock of what’s gone well this year
Take the time to appreciate what you’ve done
well this past year—and this has been one
heck of a year! While it’s only human to set
your sights on what’s next, pause and take
stock of what you’ve accomplished this year.
Really take your time here. You can even
create a list of all your accomplishments—big
and small.
Tip: Have a look back in your calendar or social media as a reminder of some of the things you’ve done.
What were your biggest lessons learned?
If 2021 was a year where you learned a
significant lesson, then pay attention to that.
This can be a great way to prepare for the new
year! Look back on 2021 and create a list of all
the lessons you want to take with you into
2022.
Here’s Wishing All the
Best over the Holidays and a
Great Start to the New Year!
Start the planning now
Are there meetings, or appointments you’ve been putting off?
This can be anything from the mundane to the day-to-day (like a
car service, or a doctor’s visits). Put them in the calendar now and
it will go a long way to accomplishing them in the new year. Keep
in mind that there might never be a ‘good time’ to, but sometimes
you just need to ‘bite the bullet’ even if it seems more like an
inconvenience. In the end it'll be worth it!
Closet Cleanout: Get Rid of Clutter for Good
This is a great time of year to declutter your wardrobe. You might
even receive some Christmas gifts like a new shirt, and you’ll
need to add them to your wardrobe. But nonetheless, cleaning
out the closet and drawers can be a great exercise. Take every
item out of your wardrobe, give it a good clean, and then only put
back the things you love wearing or have a practical purpose.
Donate the rest!
2022 is not far away. Taking a few steps now to prepare for the new year will pay off—even if it just makes you feel better. What
